[Situation update 23.00 below] BEAR Scotland tell us that the A83, north of Tarbert – as of around 15.30 , is restricted to cars only, closed to buses and HGVs.
A large wind farm lorry has overturned into the verge.
Police Scotland are stacking up HGVs and letting cars through, we understand in both directions.
The incident is near Stronachullin Farm between Ardrishaig and Tarbert – from the photographs, we’d guess near Inverneil.
It will not be quick to clear.
19.30 update: For West Coast Motors passengers – we understand that West Coast Motors has been juggling buses and using small sprinter buses to shuttle passengers through the restricted area, embarking and disembarking between normal long distance coaches on either side of the choke.
22.15 update: Affected section currently open to all vehicles but under temporary traffic lights and police presence. It will be closed to all traffic later this evening for the recovery of the wind farm vehicle stuck in the verge.
23.00 update: A83 now closed to all vehicles between Ardrishaig and Tarbert – while recovery work proceeds.
